I’m 21 and in college and I can’t go clubbing/half of the other stuff my friends do b/c I can’t dance! Like not at all. How do I learn to not make a fool of myself? I’m probably the most uncoordinated person in the world and I have no body awareness.

Freestyle in private to get you own groove. To be able to dance in any situation in public you will have to practice dancing to any song in private, and then you won’t look like a fool. Fear of the unknown is what holds you back. Get familiar with music and your body moving to any given beat and you won’t feel like a fool or look like one either. You may try taking a dance class, but you might not be as uncoordinated as you think. Your just not familiar with dance yet. Good Luck

I haven’t been in a dance class for 6+ years and I want to dance ballet and jazz. how should I prepare to get back into these classes? work on flexibility? be able to do the splits? buy certain clothing? thanks! oh, if I should by anything, can you try to find stuff on http://www.dancewearsolutions.com/

I would be buying some athletic/dance wear, but only a little until you start again and decide you really want to go back into it. I would definitely be stretching everyday and dancing. Do warm-ups too like you used to when it took it before. Also, go look at some online lessons on youtube to get a feel for it again. That’s what I did when I decided to go back to dance, however, I haven’t actually made the leap into doing it. I was shocked how much I remember and shocked how hard it was. Good Luck!

So I’m going to a rave soon and I’m not exactly sure what to do. I’m talking about dance wise. What kind of dancing would you do for say trance? I know you can’t jump for trance and I think shuffling looks pretty stupid. Is there any videos out there that can teach you how to dance to trance. Oh and as a bonus, what kind of dancing can you do with a partner? Thanks in advance.

at raves i just move to the music and its even easier with a partner cuz yoo can just move with them. most ppl only shuffle att the beginning of the rave and i dont see many ppl jump. just let the music move you and youll have fun:) hope thaat helped.

Flamenco Guitar: Learn To Play Malaguena With Guitar Tab

Flamenco guitar is an art that it is hard to master. But is it possible to play a flamenco guitar melody that is easy to learn for a beginner. Come and see!

Flamenco is a song, music and dance style which has its roots in Moorish and Jewish musical traditions.

Flamenco culture has become one of the icons of Spanish music and even Spanish culture in general.

The flamenco guitar comes from the lute and is made of Spanish cypress and spruce and is smaller than a classical guitar with a sharper sound.

Malaguena is a flamenco style with its roots in the local fandango of Malaga.

You will not need to read sheet music to play this flamenco guitar piece. We will instead use guitar tablature. You will only use four strings on the guitar.

The string with the highest pitch is called the first string or E-string. Look at the following guitar tab with four strings indicated:

This is a tablature staff and the number 2 on the fourth string indicate that you play the fourth string while pressing down the second fret.

The next note is played on the first fret on the third string. The zero indicate that you play the note without pressing down any fret.

Play the melody with your thumb and with your first finger resting on the first string for later use.

Here is the next guitar tablature part:

1. ————————-
2. —–1—0—————
3. -2———–2—0——-
4. ———————3—

After the last note on the third fret on the fourth string you just start over again with the first guitar tab staff.

Now it is time to introduce your first finger on your right hand into the melody. After every note you play with your thumb you just have to pluck the first string with your first finger. In guitar tab it looks like this:

2. —————–0–
3. ———1———-
4. -2——————

And so on for the rest of the melody!

I hope you will find this very simplified flamenco guitar tab melody enjoyable. I guess many people will recognize the melody when they hear you play it.

Flamenco guitar playing is of course an art that is hard to master but this little flamenco piece doesn’t sound so bad. Does it!
